Coaches often struggle to grow their businesses because they focus too much of their effort on a few key potential clients or opportunities. It’s easy to get excited about individual sales, but the reality is that they aren’t the key to creating big sales growth.

Why? Because not every opportunity will turn into an actual client or sale, and much like the old expression, “Don’t put all your eggs in one basket,” it doesn’t make sense to wait and hope for specific people or situations to make your business dreams come true.

If you’re serious about making your business successful you need to create massive connections with people, not just occasional ones.

Here are three key tips to help you make this crucial activity flow smoothly for you:

Tip #1: Make Marketing a Daily Event

One way that coaches get stuck financially is in a roller coaster of market/deliver/market/deliver. This cycle creates uneven cash flow and keeps your income small. Like a hamster in a wheel, you’ll find yourself going around in circles, routinely stressed about generating the next sale.

To grow your business powerfully, you need to be marketing every day, whether or not you have a program already running. A regular commitment to marketing creates momentum that will turn into a steady stream of income and clients and smooth out the “feast or famine” cycle.

Tip #2: Connect Regularly with People One-to-One

Your website and newsletter can do a terrific job of providing people with information about you and your services, and they can help you build your list, but they aren’t a substitute for the interpersonal connections that fuel a successful business. Without one-to-one conversations, you’ll find that people may buy lower-end products, but your higher-ticket coaching programs may not find the traction you desire.

Women in particular tend to make purchasing choices based on feelings and relationships. And as a woman and a coach, your best work is going to be with clients with whom you too feel a positive connection.

So make sure your marketing plan includes a steady stream of personal connections Discovery Sessions and you’ll find that not only does your income and client list grow, but the quality of your client experiences will improve as well.

Tip #3: Go for Quantity AND Quality

Creating massive connections doesn’t mean marketing indiscriminately. You still want to be focusing on your ideal clients and partnerships rather than trying to appeal to everyone. The mindset shift here is in opening yourself up and extending your marketing to a greater number of those ideal clients. Remember that the more connections you make, the more people you can be of service to.

It may take some courage and certainly some energy and time to make more personal connections each day, but the results will not only surprise you, they have the potential to be massive!
