A Purposeful Collaboration
By: Terri Zwierzynski | Leave a comment

One of my goals for 2007 is to do a LOT more collaboration. I don’t know yet what that will look like — which is what makes collaboration so exciting (the possibilities!) and at the same time a little scary (any time two independent-minded solo entrepreneurs get together, watch out! Many of us work for ourselves for a reason
One such collaboration is with Brad Swift of the Life on Purpose Institute,
one of our Solo-E Certified Experts (you can read his introduction a
few posts ago). Brad is planning an upcoming "Business on Purpose"
Teleseries, exploring the idea that "when we bring our life purpose to
work with us, our work can become an integral way in which we express
our purpose, thus allowing us to tap into a wellspring of passion
resulting in work being much more like ‘purposeful play.’
I find myself strongly attracted to Brad’s description, because it
describes how I’ve felt about my work at Solo-E. That alignment led me
to explore the idea of a collaborative effort. Right now that effort is
fairly amorphous — basically, we are making it up as we go! Which, of
course, is how I usually operate; so it’s good to find someone else
equally comfortable with seeing where things naturally evolve. Perhaps
comfort with uncertainty is a prerequisite to a successful
collaboration? Or maybe that’s just me. I’d love to hear other’s
experiences.
You’ll hear more about the teleseries here on the blog…and I’ll share
more about the evolution of the collaborative work, too.

Hello Terri Z and Fellow Solopreneurs,
Yes, 2007 is both the year for collaborations at Life On Purpose Institute and the year for breakthroughs.
I’m so excited by the ‘collaborative adventures’ that are emerging from the upcoming Building Your Business On Purpose with Passion and Play Teleseries, and yes, more will be forthcoming in the next week or so.
In the meantime, let me share the PURPOSE of the BUSINESS ON PURPOSE TELESERIES:
WORK is an integral part of people’s lives, but so many are not happy at work. They find their creativity stifled. Way too many people work simply for the paycheck. In fact, statistics collected by the Gallup Organization in 2001 indicate that less than 30 percent of American workers are fully engaged at work, while 55 percent are ‘not engaged.’Even more alarming is that another 19 percent are ‘actively disengaged,’ meaning not just that they are unhappy at work, but they are regularly sharing those feelings with their colleagues. That’s about 1 out of every 5 people at work
This teleseries proclaims a new possibility — that when we bring our life purpose to work with us, our work becomes a integral way in which we express our purpose, thus allowing us to tap into a wellspring of passion resulting in work being much more like ‘purposeful play.’ Interestingly enough, this also allows us to be much more productive and our work to be more profitable to ourselves and the world.
So, thanks Terri Z. for stepping forth can be willing to follow the ‘breadcrumbs of our mutual passions’ and I look forward to seeing where this journey takes us in serving other solopreneurs.
