How Do I Grow My Business?

In my inbox last week, I got this question from a solo entrepreneur: "Do you have any suggestions of how best to grow my business…I’ve set the intention that I get 4 new clients within the next 30 days. Do you have any recommendations about how I should proceed?"

Below is my answer to her, along with examples from my own business-growing activities.

How about thinking about how you are applying the Four Secrets? Here are some questions to think about:

Personal Development – how are you investing in yourself this month? Is there a skill you want to improve, or a habit you want to change? For instance, I’m working on practicing the Law of Attraction more fully. I’m also taking a class to learn how to find the right keywords and how to use them effectively.

Niche – how can you get even more specific about who you serve and what you provide? What exactly would those 4 new clients look like? I’m playing with the idea that the target market for Solo-E is Solo Entrepreneurs who want to be more than just self-employed. And I’m tweaking a product, the newsletter, to make it even more relevant and targeted for subscribers.

Leverage – what are you doing right now that could be done better by someone else? Or, how can you automate some aspect of your operations? I’m re-thinking how I’m using my Virtual Assistants, considering more tasks that can be delegated to them – like approving and publishing blog posts

Collaboration – who could you be working with to create a new product this month? I’m interviewing Janis Pettit next week in a teleclass on startup secrets.

You may not want to take action in all of the four areas at once. But perhaps these questions point to one or two actions you focus on this week/month, to get started.
