Maddening Websites

I just spent an agonizingly painful few minutes on someone’s website. I only stayed a few minutes because I couldn’t stand it any more.

The person who owns this website is no dummy either. She’s written lots of books about organizing — big-time, best-seller type books — and yet her website is so frustrating and maddening to navigate and to read that after just a few minutes I had to give up.

Does she have any idea how many potential readers (say book buyers) — and clients for her coaching services — she’s driving away because her website is so bad? In this day and time there is absolutely no excuse for having a crummy website.

It took me a while (say, a few years) to figure out that I wasn’t reaching my own full potential in my business because I was always so frustrated with not being in control of my websites. Well, this past fall I took care of that when I made one of the best decisions of my working life: I enrolled in Christina Hills’ Website Creation Workshop.

Now, I’m in total control of my own websites. Yes, it has been a lot to learn and at times it has been frustrating, but as more and more lightbulbs went off in my head — as I had more and more aha moments of clarity — suddenly I was brimming with ideas and possibilities for what I could actually accomplish in my business. This was BIG for me. I’m doing more and growing my business faster than ever before all because I took charge of the biggest marketing tool I use — my website.

Frankly, the idea of learning html scared me to death. When I discovered I could take total control of my websites and I didn’t have to learn one bit of html coding, I jumped at the chance. A side benefit for me is that now, I’m not afraid of html and I’m actually learning more about that, too.

Having total control of my website has added a dimension of confidence I never had before. It’s an amazing feeling and one I can’t adequately describe. But if you, too, would like to take control of your own website then you might also want to do what I did and participate in Christina Hills new spring offering of her Website Creation Workshop.

I know she is doing some introductory calls — one is on January 13th for sure — and if you’d like to learn more, just visit Christina’s website to get the scoop. Or you can contact me, too, and I’ll share my experiences about the class with you.

I’m a Christina Hills raving fan. (Can you tell?) Not only did she help me with taking full control of my website, but she also taught me how to use a shopping cart, how to use audio and video more effectively and got me up to speed really fast on the teleseminar system I use for my own classes. Her skills and background are unquestionably technical; yet her style is completely ‘user friendly’ and marketing oriented. She has the patience of a saint, too. She tirelessly and patiently explained things over and over if necessary. We all learn at a different pace and she has designed her class so that everyone gets maximum benefit regardless of how quickly you ‘catch on.

Tell me this:

If you were in total control of your website, what could you do with that power? Please comment below.
