If you’re using Facebook as another way to connect with your target market and colleagues, kudos to you. But do you have a way for them to sign up for your email list?
There’s a simple application that allows you to set up an opt-in box right on your profile page. The application is called the “Profile HTML” application, and you also need the code for your opt-in form from Aweber or whatever list service provider you’re using before you follow the steps below. Just log into your account and copy the code for your opt-in form, then take the following steps:
1. Log in to your Facebook account.
2. Click on the Home tab at the top of the page.
3. Click on the Applications edit link on the right-hand side of the page.
4. Find “Profile HTML” application and click on it.
5. Paste the code for your opt-in box into the form box that says ‘your code’
6. Click Preview to make sure it looks ok, then click Submit to place it on your profile page.
Voila! It should show up on the left-hand side of your profile page.
Then in your “write something about you” box, point your visitors to the opt-in box to encourage them to sign up.
