Testimonials

One of the best ways to acquire new clients, and to build customer confidence, is through the power of written testimonials.
By now you have worked with a number of clients or completed a few demonstrations or complimentary consultations, taught a teleclass or two and have sent out a number of written articles. Write or call the people you have worked with in your demo/consultation or taught in a teleclass and ask them if they would be willing to provide you with a quote or testimonial that you can use in your marketing efforts.
Once these are obtained, you will want to post these on your website, use them in your written and electronic marketing materials, or add them to the signature line of your e-mail.
When you receive a testimonial from a client, ask if you may use their full name and web address. It is far more credible for people to see a written testimonial from:
“Alicia Smith, Business Coach and DISC Ninja™, www.discninja.com who may be reached at info@aliciasmith.com”.
than to have the testimonial be from:
“A.S., Coach “
Many people post bogus testimonials on their websites, which can destroy credibility. Be honest and provide solid testimonials, which speak exactly what your potential clients most want to know…that you are a fantastic business owner and you have a way to prove it!
You will want to store all of these in a Word or Excel document so that you can easily find them as needed. These same people may be willing to be used as references when someone asks you for them…and at some point you will be asked.
It’s also nice to include a picture if your client’s are willing to send one to you. Anything that personalizes the feedback will add tremendous credibility and weight to the value you deliver.
