We all need to get our inspiration from somewhere, right?

Last Saturday I treated myself to a mani/pedi. The manicurist’s arm caught my attention. On it, she had tattooed the Little Mermaid, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White. Floating above the images was the phrase, “When you believe in dreams…”

I asked her about the tattoo and she cheerfully chirped, “Oh, these are the Disney Princesses.”

Okay. Now, keep in mind that this gal had rings through her nose, lips, Goth clothing, spiky hair and looked to be all of maybe 27 years old. So naturally, I’m curious.

I asked, “What is the significance for you in the Disney Princesses?”

Her reply? “Well, you know, life can beat you down and your heart can get hurt. But every time I look at the Disney Princesses I’m reminded that there’s hope in the world.”

I smiled, touched at her candor. I tipped her big, in gratitude at her pluck and desire to create what we all want: love, happiness and a little bit of that Disney Princess feeling of believing that dreams do indeed, come true.
