Wonky Technology

Perhaps you’re like me. You just want — and expect — these marvelous technological wonders we work with every day to perform in the way we expect.
I’ve had a few technological snafus lately and while the world has certainly not come to an end, it is frustrating and it is embarrassing when your snafus go public.
Several of my friends have told me it’s because Mars is in retrograde right now. Maybe so. I’m happy to have any excuse besides my own screwing up.
Case in point is what happened yesterday. I’ve just started building the new home for my Good Company Club and it is not nearly ready to go. I got a little overeager, however, to try out the latest version of Wishlist Member — the software I use to manage the membership side of things there.
Rather than just run an import test with a couple of emails of my own, I imported in the entire list from my former Inner Success Circle site so I could see how well the import process worked. What I didn’t realize is that when I did that, it would automatically generate a rather generic welcome email and send it to everyone on that list.
Which only served to confuse — and annoy — a number of people. Sorry about that.
So sometimes we live and learn.
And it seems like lately, the Universe has been providing me lots of chances to learn something new — and always the hard way.
I just have to chalk it all up in the “that’s life” category and get on with it.
So I’m getting on with it.
How about you? Do you get “learning opportunities” too? If so, share some with us here so the rest of us can learn from you and at least bypass one or two that the Universe might be planning to throw our way.
