Which Side Do You Take, Positive or Negative?

How often has your head doubted your abilities, talked you out of an opportunity and kept you fearful? The arguments sound compelling and logical, but there is always doubt about taking the next step forward. Your heart is the source of your intuition. Opportunities will appear and be a stretch for you. Your inner guide wants you to take that big leap of faith. It realizes the outcome is in direct proportion to the amount of effort you put into taking that next step toward your goal.

Both, your ego and your instinct, might be guiding you toward the same outcome. Each, however, has a very different purpose. Your ego is constrictive and will focus on lack. Being connected to your intuition is expansive, connecting you with your deeper purpose.

It takes practice to begin shifting from your ego being the voice of command to your intuition being the guidance for direction. Approaching this from the Law of Attraction, you always want to go with the flow and be moving toward solutions instead of away from a problem. This reinforces the focus of turning a negative into a positive.

Neither perception is right or wrong; this is a personal choice. Based upon the Law of Attraction, whatever you focus on you will have more of in your life. You have to do what is best for you. People will try to influence your decision. The only person who can actually decide what is the best approach for you to take is you. This is your responsibility. It is your choice as to whether you want to be externally motivated or internally driven. Change is possible.

When everything lines up and there is congruency, you will be more likely to reach your goal. Determine which approach is best for you. What do you want more of in your life? You are the only one to determine whether your ego or intuition ought to be primary. Whatever goal you set for yourself, make sure that your thoughts, actions and words are aligned. When you have it all lined up, you are more likely to successfully reach your goals.

Activity: Identify one goal you have to help you build your practice. Can you determine whether your ego or your intuition is in charge? Are the feelings you have about taking the next step toward your goal fearful or confident? Are you seeking external validation or do you have an internal sense of gratification?

Interested in changing focus? How would you reframe from the opposite perspective? Once you do that, how does it change things for you?

    Great tips.

Your intuition works for you, the ego can often work against you.

You’ll never be led astray by your intuition although it might not always seems that way. This is because we tend to do things which “make sense”, and the intuition often guides us in directions which make no sense at all.

Ryan, well said. It is so easy to stay in your head and make decisions based upon logic. Connecting with your heart and your intuition, involves risk and can be vulnerable. The choices do not always make sense. I know I have had many times where I have looked back on something and seen how seemingly random events have created a thread to something even better than I would have ever imagined happening.

  4. Mitch Says:

I believe in the laws of attraction, and I also believe in the power of being positive over negative. I have to say that I’m positive most of the time, but negativity pops in there often these days. 2009 was a bad year for me both financially and personally, and there were days that started out with my going back to bed and burying my head.

But I didn’t stay in that place. I think out of 365 days I might have had 10 where the entire day stunk; that’s not so bad in my mind. We have to strive to get better and make things better for ourselves, but we also have to allow ourselves to have that little bit of down time every once in awhile for balance.

Mitch, even when you are moving forward sometimes you will come across obstacles which were unexpected and stop you in your tracks. What I want to point out is that you never retreated. It is typical to feel depression or overwhelm when confronted with something you don’t know how to get past. Once you figure out the plan, however, your energy will shift and you will begin to take action moving forward much again. Happy to hear you continued to move forward instead of retreating. Having a mindset for success is the difference between success and failure.
