I just returned from three intense days of watching high-level marketing and business speakers at Infusioncon 2102 in Phoenix, Arizona. Infusioncon is an annual event for users of Infusionsoft marketing and sales software, but it’s really so much more. It’s a rare look into the future of online marketing with some really smart, savvy people sharing the future of business.
From virtually every speaker and presenter, one, single, consistent message came through loud and clear: The future of business is video. (I’ll get to why that’s really good news for you!)
Speakers included industry icons such as Gary Vaynerchuk, author and blogger Chris Brogan, Loral Langemeier, my wonderful friend and “Escape from Cubicle Nation” author Pam Slim, and my way-cool client and coaching superstar Ali Brown.
Top industry leaders and bestselling authors each had their own take on the changing landscape marketing and sales, but one thing was perfectly clear: The old way of doing things is dead. Done. Useless. It won’t work. As bestselling author Gary Vaynerchuk joked to an audience member who was still clinging to old technologies, “Your horse and buggy is waiting outside to take you home!”
As the various speakers paraded on stage, video marketing became a common theme and unanimous battle cry. All of the speakers cited the importance of video as an emerging marketing powerhouse, and each of them implored us to get on the video train. Video is the way we are communicating online and offline, and those who don’t embrace video will not just be at a disadvantage, they’ll be out of business!
Of course, I’ve been preaching the video gospel for years, so it’s no surprise that I’ll echo the advice of the experts: Now is the time to adopt and integrate video marketing into your existing business plans.
The good news is, it’s still relatively early in the game. As Gary Vaynerchuk explained, we’re in a 9-inning baseball game, but we’re still only singing the National Anthem. So it’s not too late to get on board and get your business in the game. But, as the speakers advised over and over, you must take massive action.
Take a course, watch a webinar, do it yourself, have me (or someone) do it for you – but if you care about your business – then just get started!
