Facebook is the most popular social networking site online right now. There are more than 800 million active users and more than 50% of those active users log in on any given day. There are more than 350 million active users that access Facebook with their cell phone.

With those statistics, who in their right mind wouldn’t want to advertise their business using this tool? Truth is, most business owners would jump on the chance to do this, if they knew how to do it. They would also use this tool if they knew how to do it correctly so they would see an increase in traffic and growth.

There are several different ways to grow your business through Facebook. Here are three options for you to consider using.

1. Profile page

Your profile page is a good way to start when you’re going to advertise your business. This is the place where your friends go to see what you have going on and to say hello. Your profile page also shows up in the feed, so anyone looking at that stream will see what you have to say.

2. Fan page or group

Depending on your business and how you plan to involve your friends with it, you’ll want to use a fan page or group. This is the perfect way to share what you offer and have your friends join in on the conversations. You’ll have full control over what happens here so it’s a good idea to make this page as active as possible.

3. Facebook Ads

If you look to the right side of any page within Facebook, you’ll see Sponsored Ads. These are ads that business owners pay to have visible on Facebook. They are very specifically targeted as far as geographic areas, age groups, and other information, so what you see on your account may be different than what your friends see. This makes Facebook a great place to advertise because you have the ability to target your ad only to your market.

Facebook is a great place to advertise your business, but often times it can be a challenge. It takes time and hard work, which may be something you don’t have a lot of. If you find you don’t have the time or the knowledge to make the most of Facebook, you need to consider hiring a Virtual Assistant or Online Business Manager to help. Together you’ll be able to make Facebook work for your business.

When using FB ads, would you say it is better to drive people stragiht to your site or to drive people to your FB page to encourage new ‘likes’ and build a following in order to re-target people?
