One of the big "wake up calls" I had last year was
about my mo'ney integrity. You see, up until then I figured being
honest was all there was to having mo'ney integrity.
Boy, was I wrong!
Being
honest is of course, crucial. But if that's all that was required to
becoming we'althy from owning a business then why aren't more business
owners retiring rich? See my point?!
Creating
more mo'ney in your life means you must first create mo'ney integrity.
You see, mo'ney loves to be paid attention. It loves to be handled,
appreciated, counted, spent, loved, accumulated, passed on, fed, added
to, spoken highly of and nurtured.
Unfortunately,
many business owners do the opposite. They complain about, whine,
pinch, forgo, limit, speak nasty of or ignore (heavens!) mo'ney.
Hmmm...now how would YOU react if you were treated like that?
Right.
One
of the reasons I've made so much more in the past year than I ever have
(I calculated that I have increased my income by an incredible 300% in
just the past twelve months!) is because I am shifting my relationship
with mo'ney by always looking for ways to increase my mo'ney integrity.
So
let's take a look at a few simple actions you can take right now to
increase your mo'ney integrity so you can have MORE of it flowing in!
Tip #1. Track what comes in...all of it!
I used to segregate what came in. If it was an info product we sold off
of my husband, Richard's, site, I would discount it, saying "Oh, that's
not what I made!". Big mistake. It ALL counts so count it all, no
matter where it comes in from.
Tip #2. Pay yourself first, no matter what and no matter how much.
Think you need to wait until the end of the month before paying
yourself? That sends a message of "waiting" to the universe, which I
doubt you really want! Instead, pay yourself at least once a month
(twice is better) no matter what. Even if it's a tiny amount it doesn't
matter. It's the act that counts, not the amount.
Tip #3. Speak about mo'ney like you speak about someone you love
Oh, the nasty things we say about something we want so badly in our
life! Now, does that make sense? Of course not. From now on, use words
of appreciation, support and gratitude regarding mo'ney. For example,
thank it for being there when you pay a bill.
Tip #4. Save something every month
If your purse is tight right now this can feel like it's impossible. It
isn't! Even saving as little as $10 a month sends a strong, clear
message of empowerment, choice and positive action. I go one step
further and track what the mo'ney in my savings account is for (using a
very high-tech system--pencil and notebook paper made into a simple
chart!).
Tip #5. Clean up any financial "messes"
Mo'ney is a difficult topic to talk about in our culture so it's common
to have a financial situation you may not be proud of lurking in the
corners of your mo'ney closet. Be up front about it and get it
handled...now. The sooner you are current on payments (that includes
clients paying YOU), pay back a friend, ask for a refund you feel is
due to you (yes, this counts too!) the sooner you'll create an opening
for more of what you want to flow in.
By
treating mo'ney with the same high level of integrity that you have in
other areas of your life you'll attract more of what you want...and
enjoy what you have even more!
