Here is today's article..."Exploring the Alchemist Archetype"
I want to introduce you to Raquel. Raquel is a skin care specialist who just happens to have done an extraordinary job branding her business with the power of the Alchemist archetype.
The Alchemist is obsessed with transformation. They are experts at "turning straw into gold" (think Weight Watchers as an example here) or at creating experiences where their clients feel transported to somewhere magical and different from their regular lives.
The Alchemist is a lover of the magical, the mysterious and in demonstrating that yes, we CAN reach for the stars. The Spiritual Contract for the Alchemist is to make dreams come true.
Now back to Raquel. Raquel LOVES tropical islands. So instead of decorating her facial room in the pleasant (but hardly memorable) colors and style most facialists use, she has created a "get away" island theme.
You're greeted to the sounds of ocean waves. On the treatment table is a turquoise and white silk flower lei welcoming you to your 1-hour island paradise. On the walls are photos of beautiful island woman. The candle holders are covered in shells, as is the border of the little mirror behind the door.
Everywhere you look her turquoise and white theme is carried out in the wall colors, the decorative throw pillows on the guest chair, and jars holding her goodies. Even the waste basket is true to her theme, wrapped in jute and trimmed with a pretty border of sea shells.
After your facial (which is heavenly) Raquel gives you a gift of a tiny container of something special she used on your face. She hands your gift to you tucked into a darling little bag made of natural, undyed fiber, along with a bottle of Fiji brand water.
This is the beauty of Branding with Archetypes™. Raquel spent no more decorating her room than any other facialist would. What she DID do is create a memorable experience that is easy and fun to tell others about (helping her build word-of-mouth) and inspiring her clients to WANT to come back for more.
Take a look around your own office, at your website and other marketing materials, even at how you dress. Is there a theme? If so, what does it say? Is it strong, consistent and easy to talk about?
Whether you're the Alchemist or one of the other 12 archetypes in my Branding with Archetypes system™, now is the time to assess WHAT message you send and HOW it is received. This is the foundation to building your multiple streams of income success!
