Five Reasons Why You Need a Virtual Assistant

Often, when I am meeting a new client for the first time, the first thing they ask is, "What can you, as a virtual assistant, help me with?"  While that question does not have a single answer (since everyone's business is different), there are some mainstream ways in which a virtual assistant can assist you in your business.

Here are five reasons why you need a virtual assistant:

1. Free Up Your Time

A virtual assistant can free up as many as 40-60 hours per month for you (should you have a need for that amount of assistance) or as little as 2-5 hours per month in your business.  What does this mean for you?  Think about what you could accomplish in your business and in your social/home life if you had that much extra time.  You are running a business which is hard work - why not reward yourself with more free time?

2. Get Organized

If you are like most entrepreneurs I know, you may not be highly organized.  You may also have multiple projects on the go and the lines between each seem to be blurring together more and more often. Using a virtual assistant can help get you and your projects organized so you can come across as being highly professional in your work with others.

3. Remove Yourself from the Front Lines

There is nothing worse than calling a business and having the CEO or President answer the phone.  I mean, it's great that they are getting in touch with their business BUT does it encourage a sense of security and show growth in a business?  Not necessarily.  You need people on your front lines handling the day-to-day stuff so you can do what you do best.  Grow your business, develop new products and services and act important!

4. Think Bigger Picture About Your Business

It is my experience that you can't grow your business to great heights without people to help you do so.  We may all think that we are great at everything but the thing is, in all reality, we're not.  We might have many, many skills but we can't do everything in our businesses effectively.  It's just the way it is - if we're managing one or two areas in our business, other areas might be slacking.  Get people in place who can focus on an area and excel in that area.

5. Have a Partner in Your Business

Sometimes being self-employed and being a solopreneur can be isolating.  But, it doesn't have to be.  If you have a good virtual assistant, he/she can become a partner in your business.  They can help collaborate on ideas, brainstorm new projects and provide you advice based upon what they know works and what doesn't.
