I bet that right now you have more projects on your to-do list than you have time to complete. But the problem isn't the number of projects you have, it's which ones get your time and attention.
How to get focused is the #1 challenge most entrepreneurs struggle with. That used to be a big problem for me too, until I learned a few simple techniques that I want to share with you here. These are the same simple techniques that have made a big difference in my creating a high six figure home-based business.
#1 Choose The Right Priorities
The fact is, that you'll NEVER get your entire to-do list done, which means that it's crucial to focus your time on the few activities that will move your business forward the fastest, easiest way possible.
I bet that if I peeked at your to-do list I would see lots of items that have little to do with what matters most in your business. Wondering what those all-important priorities should be? This will help make it easy for you: your role in your business is to market, grow your list and create new services to offer your expanding client base. That's it. Anything else on your to-do list is a distraction that will cause you to lose traction!
#2 Ask The Right Questions
Asking yourself "How do I get everything done?!" will only cause you to feel anxious and behind. Instead, change your questions to ones that support your marketing, list building or creation of new products and services. For example, asking yourself, "Who else markets to my same clients?" will help you create alliance partner opportunities. Asking, "What else do my clients want a solution to that I'm not providing yet?" will help you create new products you can easily sell.
#3 Remember You Are In Charge Of Your Day
If you constantly find yourself attending to other peoples' needs and priorities then you're putting your success on the back-burner. It's easy to think that once you take care of everyone else, you'll get to do what you want but the truth is, it never works out that way.
The ONLY way to be successful in your business is to surrender to the fact that you are in charge of your day. No one can distract you or make their needs more important than yours unless you let them. The more that you honor your vision by staying focused on your marketing, list building and new offers, the more you are living your Soul's Divine Purpose in your business.
The next time (tomorrow, probably!) someone needs your help and tries to make their priority, your priority, remember that by giving in, you are giving up your power to be living your dream. Politely tell them you'll be glad to help them later when you've finished your "work," then turn your attention to what you know your real priorities are.
The most successfully people in your industry got that way by focusing their time on what matters most, not just on what tried to get their attention! Follow these simple tips and you'll be surprised at how much more you get done and how you leapfrog your business forward with less effort than you've ever spent!
