Finally Figured Out Where I Am: I’m In “The Dip”!!
Terri Zwierzynski - The Solo-CEO: Content Marketing Strategist

Just read Andy Wibbel’s book review of The Dip by Seth Godin. What a HUGE a-Ha!! This explains a lot of what I’ve been experiencing the last few weeks or so…more on that later.

Among my circle of solo entrepreneur buddies, I’ve watched in puzzlement over the last five years as too many of their once-successful solo businesses fizzle. It’s been bothering me for a long time — why these intelligent,
enthusiastic, hard-working folks, who deserve to "have it all", sort of slip into this state where their businesses stop moving forward, new opportunities stall, and income stagnates or declines.  While their owners slip into depression, despair, even personal bankruptcy (or, even worse <tongue firmly in cheek> get a JOB.)

In MBA Marketing 101, we talk politely about target markets, niches, segmenting, etc., etc. All nice impersonal words that mask the real truth — we don’t want to work with people we don’t like!

Sometimes it takes a wakeup call to realize how much time and energy we are wasting talking to individuals who are never going to hire us, and who really aren’t going to benefit from anything we tell them anyway! Read Andy’s hilarious take on this subject: Trimming the Freaks.

Personally, that’s what an answering machine is for…

Deal or No Deal

Have you seen this show on TV? This is the premise: Contestants (players) come on the show with the hope of winning one million dollars. Twenty-six gorgeous women hold metal cases, labeled 1-26, that contain different written $ amounts of money starting with a penny up to one million dollars.

The show begins with the contestant picking one case to hold on the side that contains (what they hope is) is the one million dollars. The intent of the show is for the player to pick case numbers to be opened without picking cases that have high $ amounts, especially the one million!
