Home Based Business Stressing You Out? Three Ways to Restore Your Sanity
Terri Zwierzynski - The Solo-CEO: Content Marketing Strategist

No one can ever say that having a home based business is boring! Between quieting barking dogs, refereeing your children’s fights, and answering the phone and the doorbell, it can sometimes be hard to get anything done — no matter how well you visualize, set goals, and plan your day.

And it can be equally easy to be too hard on ourselves, blame ourselves for not being more organized, focused or motivated. But that just increases the pressure — it doesn’t solve anything!

How to Get Clients by Giving Testimonials
Admin Text-Only Editing - Text Only Admin

Want to get the name and website of your woman small business in front of thousands of potential clients AND honor the gift of gratitude? Easy…give enthusiastic, honest, “results-based” testimonials.

At first, I had no idea this strategy could be as powerful as it is. It wasn’t until I started hearing how new clients enrolled in my success coaching programs “found me” via testimonials I had on other woman small business owners’ websites that I realized the potential testimonials have to create new leads.

Creative Retreat Time at the Ocean – Filling Up!
Admin Text-Only Editing - Text Only Admin

This week I am really delighted to share that I am on creative retreat…at the ocean!

A few months back I realized that my boys were going skiing with their dad for spring break and my husband was going to be traveling this week. I didn’t really want to be home alone all week. Well, I woke up one morning around 5 am wondering, “What would my future self….my inner audaciously successful & savvy business woman…my future self in 3 years do?”

I knew instantly. She would find a beautiful place to visit, nurture herself, and spend some chunks of time finally getting to some of those creative writing projects like revising my web page for the Joyful Business Guide and putting the final details together for my new Platinum coaching program. And, of course, it would have to be by the beach!

Setting Goals – Your Ticket to Success
Michele Pariza Wacek (Michele PW) - Love-Based Biz Strategist and Copywriter

You know that old saying ” if you don’t know where you’re going, any path will get you there. That’s what happens if you don’t take the time to figure out what your goals are and WRITE them down. There’s power in writing things down. Trust me, I’m a writer. I KNOW.

Figuring out your goals is probably one of the most important and one of the most overlooked steps for creative professionals starting their business. Ideally you should put together a business plan. However, I have yet to meet a creative professional (including myself) who has one. (In fact, if you do have a business plan, please contact me. I’d love to chat with you about it.) Second best is getting your goals down on paper. Here are some things to include.

Get More Done In Less Time: Automate & Delegate
Marnie Pehrson - Bestselling Author, Business & Marketing Consultant

For years I intentionally kept my business growth on a tight leash. My mind was swimming with big ideas, but I put them on the back burner because I didn’t want to write checks my body couldn’t cash. I was under the mistaken impression that short of cloning myself no one else could do what I could do… and since I’m a bit of a control freak … that meant I couldn’t take on projects that I didn’t have time to perform myself.

The more you show up, the more money you make
Admin Text-Only Editing - Text Only Admin

The theme of last weekend’s SOLD OUT Brand Authenticity workshop was “The more you show up, the more you make!”

Which meant of course, that I had to be a model for what I was talking about. It wasn’t hard but at moments, it did feel a bit risky.

Today is Tax Day in the U.S. so it’s appropriate that we talk about money!

Are you attracting all the money you desire? Or does it still seem like there is an invisible barrier blocking money from easily coming to you?

I often get clients asking me about my favorite tools for shifting those pesky (and often giant boulder-like) limiting beliefs. Often many of those limiting beliefs will have to do with money. I work with a variety of products and I like to share with you my favorites!

Recession? Fiddlesticks!
Michele Pariza Wacek (Michele PW) - Love-Based Biz Strategist and Copywriter

Have you ever seen “A Daily Show” by Jon Stewart on Comedy Central? As you might imagine (the fact that it’s on Comedy Central is probably a giveaway) it’s a political satire show.

Anyway, a few weeks ago, Jon had a couple of segments dissecting the media coverage surrounding our presidential election. Namely, showing how the media is blowing things out of proportion. For instance: about a half dozen journalists reported Republican candidate Mitt Romney to have “exploded” at a fellow journalist. Jon showed the “explosion,” and as far as I could tell, Mitt didn’t even raise his voice.

SMILE.
Admin Text-Only Editing - Text Only Admin

That use to drive me crazy!

When I was a teenager I was painfully shy. I wasn’t very confident (although I did have this inner drive /obsession that I was going to become confident!). Since I was uncomfortable with myself I didn’t usually smile very often as that would be taking up space in the world. That would be claiming something for myself – I’m happy! I was always afraid that someone would crush my happiness. ( I didn’t know at the time that I was the one who was responsible for my happiness and no one could “take it away” ) So, I often had people who would pass by me and say “SMILE!” – rather forcefully, demanding that I brighten up and plaster a big grin on my face.
