Universe, Give me a Sign!
Admin Text-Only Editing - Text Only Admin

As many of you read in my blog, I went on a creative break to Seabrook Island off the coast of South Carolina in early April. I had never been here before but it was a treat to myself for a busy and successful year.

I woke early one morning thinking about this week when my boys would be off skiing on spring break in Colorado, and my husband would be travelling, and wondered what I should do. I asked my Inner Savvy & Audaciously Successful Business Woman and she knew right away! She said to go away…find a place to go that was inspiring….use this chunk of free time to get a few projects done and to relax and fill back up. She also said…and treat yourself nice…go somewhere inspiring! For me it has to be a beach! I found Seabrook Island as I was looking at lodging choices, and I also heard her say…and you want to be on the beach – no skimping out on your creative inspiration!

GOALS: Follow the Leader
Admin Text-Only Editing - Text Only Admin

We’ve been told for years that the best way to learn something is by example. That is why we are taught by teachers, use computer tutorials, and follow examples and exhibits in books. But what about in day to day life? Are there people that you can follow that intuitively know exactly what your needs and wishes are, so that you can copy their actions and/or solicit their advice? If I had to guess, I’d say not. So how does one go about finding someone to learn from? Go look in the mirror. You can achieve the things that you desire most in life, by following your own lead. There is a three step process: Be-ing, Do-ing, and Hav-ing.

Are You Choosing to Succeed or Fail?
Michele Pariza Wacek (Michele PW) - Love-Based Biz Strategist and Copywriter

Recently I was watching the movie Back To The Future. That’s the one with Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd where Fox goes back in time and meets his parents when they were in high school. During the course of the movie, his father ends up standing up for himself, which he had never done before, and when Fox returns to the present time, his entire family is in a completely different place.

So it got me thinking. One act completely transforms a life. Now, I realize this is the movies and life isn’t nearly so clear cut, but the truth of the matter is we ARE the results of the choices we make. And our life right now is the end result of the choices we made yesterday. And what our life is tomorrow is the result of what we’re choosing to do today.

When Life Has Other Plans – Is Your Business In Order In Case of An Emergency?
Admin Text-Only Editing - Text Only Admin

Well, I started off 2008 very excited and pumped about the new year, new plans…new possibilities. I kicked off the New Year with a Business Planning Retreat with my friend and collegue, Wendy Watkins of PassionFruit People Growers. We went to the beautiful mountains in North Carolina and holed up in a luxury timber home – spoiled ourselves while we marianted, planned, brainstormed, calendarized, blew up, and blew out plans for 2008. Talk about coming back and being revved to go!

Well, my intention was that I would be writing you a blog entry about our retreat, what we did, how we did it, etc…and give you some ideas and inspiration for your own.

How Much More Can You Delegate?
Admin Text-Only Editing - Text Only Admin

No one wants to hear about someone else feeling icky so I’ll spare you the details of my last week’s bout with the stomach flu (let’s just say I’m not a few pounds lighter and VERY happy to be back to work on my business!).

But, I DO want to share a revelation I had while lying on the couch recovering.

The revelation is that despite having four virtual assistants, my husband, my mom and my brother working with me in my business, I am STILL doing too much of the stuff I shouldn’t be.

GOALS: Do What You Love
Admin Text-Only Editing - Text Only Admin

Love and Passion … are two words that bring to mind deep feelings for something or someone. For instance, the type of feelings that begins in the pit of your stomach and radiate outward, exuding brilliance, warmth, and joy. Do these words represent how you feel about your job and or position in life? The majority of the population, two-thirds in fact, is always seeking new employment. Which means that at any given time 67% of the United States population is experiencing job dissatisfaction, and all of the baggage that accompanies this epidemic.

More Biz Lessons from KISS
Michele Pariza Wacek (Michele PW) - Love-Based Biz Strategist and Copywriter

Who would have thought that at almost-age 40, I’d own my first KISS shirt? Thanks to my good friend, Nancy Marmolejo, VivaVisbility.com, who bought it for me after seeing my fab photo with KISS star Gene Simmons.

I must say wearing it gives me a whole new perspective on life. I keep feeling like I should be blasting my 80s hair-band music and digging out my lighter. Ah, those we’re the days.

Does she or DOESN’T she?

Can you believe that the pretty lady on the left is 65 years old…AND my mom?! (And no, she DOESN’T color her hair! Yeesh, I have more gray than she does!).

Today is my mom, Kailash’s, birthday. This pic was taken just last week, with her dear friend (and amazing body healer that I go to every week) Harini.

Are You Positive Or Negative?
Admin Text-Only Editing - Text Only Admin

Magnetism is a wonderful thing. We often hear that someone “has a magnetic personality”, or that they are “full of magnetism”, even that opposites attract “like magnets”. Why the fascination with magnetism? Perhaps because the term magnetism implies that the opportunity exists for something to be drawn to you easily and effortlessly. What if that thing is success, fame, or how about money?

7 Free SEO Tools — Courtesy of MarketingSherpa
Terri Zwierzynski - The Solo-CEO: Content Marketing Strategist

MarketingSherpa published a wonderful list of seven free (and one paid) search engine optimization tools, most of them user-friendly and valuable for the solo entrepreneur as well as small businesses! I love this list not just because it’s a great collection of tools, but because of the ideas they share for HOW to use the tools, too. For instance I’ve had SEOQuake for months and didn’t know you could use it to sort your search results!
