Chasing the Quail
Michele Pariza Wacek (Michele PW) - Love-Based Biz Strategist and Copywriter

“You’re wasting your time chasing the quails,” Maddie, my packmate, told me.

Recently, I had decided to start asking around for a business coach. I realized I needed a business coach after losing my steam about creating a business. I had wanted to get the word out about obedience classes being for humans, not dogs. I thought dogs would be beating down the door to drag their humans to obedience classes.

We were standing outside and the quails were no where to be found. “If I don’t chase them, how do I get them to answer my question?”

Maddie sniffed the ground. “If you chase them, all they’ll do is run away.”

I put my ears down. I didn’t feel like Maddie was listening to me. “If I don’t chase them, how can I ask my question?”

Maddie wrinkled her nose and started to trot away. “Why don’t you get the quails to come to you?”

Wuff,

Nick, the border collie

Marketing Mess of the Week
Sandra P. Martini - Business Growth & Marketing Expert

I was recently debating about attending a very high end workshop this spring and, in reviewing the sales page, noticed several things:

  1. There were 2 different prices within about 3 inches of space and all related to the current day and time (so “no”, I wasn’t reading a “regular” versus “early bird” price).
  2. When I clicked to purchase the full-pay option, there was a THIRD price, so just for fun, I clicked on the multi-pay option and, you guessed it, a fourth price not seen before emerged.
  3. There were two sets of conflicting dates on the site and the event location was given very broadly so I had no real idea WHERE I’d be going (I understand and agree with not listing hotel info, but I do need to know what city I’m flying into when determining cost).
  4. I tried to call the business owner to give her a heads up, but couldn’t get through on any of the extensions given on rather long, and very “insurance company corporate” sounding voicemail.

Are You Hunkering Down or Pivoting?
Marnie Pehrson - Bestselling Author, Business & Marketing Consultant

I grew up on a basketball court. Naturally, several of our children have played as well. As our family concludes another basketball season, it never ceases to amaze me how many life lessons can be gleaned from the game.

Saturday my parents and I were sitting in the bleachers watching Elijah (our 7-year-old) play. When the little kids get a rebound or steal the ball, they’re taught to wrap their arms around it and hunker down. That signals to the refs and the other team that the child has the ball, and everyone backs off and heads down the other end of the court.

Facinated by People Who Live their Life With Spirit, Grace & Generosity

You know that I’m fascinated by people who are not only financially successful, but also live their life from a place of spirit, grace and generosity.

I’m always curious to discover how they handle the same kinds of situations that come up for regular folks, that must surely come up for them as well. Things like fear, trust or procrastination.

Women of Vision
Marnie Pehrson - Bestselling Author, Business & Marketing Consultant

I had the privilege of being included in a wonderful new book called Women of Vision: Ordinary Women, Extraordinary Lives. Here’s a little about it:

Authors Kathleen Smith and Elizabeth Ireland went on a voyage of discovery to find ordinary women, who had found their passion, combined it with their own ingenuity and used it to empower themselves and others and make a positive impact on the world. This book is an inspirational and practical roadmap that resulted from their journey.

Filled with the memorable stories of the women themselves, you will learn to:

  • Energize your inspiration
  • Release fear and limitation and learn to trust your inner guidance
  • Discover methods to fund your dream
  • Find sources of guidance that support your vision
  • Learn about personal ROI – the return on investment money can’t buy

Time Management – Finding Solutions and Shortcuts
Admin Text-Only Editing - Text Only Admin

There are four major sources of time drain for busy business owners:

1. Scheduling appointments

Solution:  Get clients to self-schedule. One of the many advantages to doing this is that there are no emails back and forth offering various timeslots – a huge timesaver in itself

2. Day-to-day emails – too many!

Solution:  Schedule set times to check your emails.  Once or twice a day is enough, say first thing in the morning and again later in the day.  If you subscribe to various industry groups save reading these emails until you take a break from your work – maybe at the end of the day when you’re winding down.

Okay, So What IS Up For Us This Year, And How Will It Help YOU?
Admin Text-Only Editing - Text Only Admin

Now, more than ever, I’m powerfully tapping into my Soul’s Divine Purpose™. That is, if you’re currently at 5-figures to show you how to leap past that magical 6-figure mark. And if you’re already at 6-figures to show you how to leap into MULTIPLE 6-figures, even into 7-figures just like I’ve done.

I remember how scary it was to make those leaps and trust me, I didn’t do it alone. That’s why I’m so passionate about turning everything I’ve learned (sometimes through blood, sweat and tears) into simple, graceful “money, marketing and soul” systems that anyone can apply to their own business.

Your next newsletter is due out this Friday!  You’ve got your newsletter template in front of you; you’re sat at your PC all ready to go, and, horror of horrors… you’ve got blank page syndrome a.k.a. writer’s block.  Your mind is a complete blank and you can’t think of a single thing to write about!

Writing articles is one of the main reasons why many solopreneurs put off producing a newsletter – they think they won’t have anything to write about and writing an article is too time consuming anyway!

WRONG!
