E-Myth: Delegated, Automated, Now What?
Marnie Pehrson - Bestselling Author, Business & Marketing Consultant

You’ve probably heard of books like The 4-Hour Work Week and The E-Myth. They teach entrepreneurs how to delegate and liberate themselves from the day-to-day operations of their business so they can do what they’ve always dreamed of doing — sit back and watch the revenues roll in. It’s the great American dream – right?

Here’s something few people talk about … when you get to that point, what do you do with yourself? Sure, you think you’ll travel, you’ll see the world, you’ll take up golf or painting. And that’s all great. But if you’re a work-a-holic who has finally been able to delegate the majority of the day-to-day tasks of your business, there’s a lot of junk that goes on in your head when shifting from “doing” to “being.”

Welcome To Your Marketing Business
Marty Marsh - Follow-Up & Stay-In-Touch Marketing Strategist

The day you went into business for yourself is the day that you put on your marketing hat and it never comes off. You are the Chief Marketing Officer for your new marketing business. Sure, you may be selling something — a service or a physical product or both — but the reality is that you are now in the marketing business. Full time.

A business, no matter what kind it is, will not flourish and last if you aren’t continuously marketing it. And let’s be very clear right up front: marketing is not about persuading people to buy something they don’t want. That’s no fun and it’s not the way a Soul Proprietor does business.

A Soul Proprietor lets people know what problems they solve and why they are the best choice for solving them, but would never pressure someone to buy something they aren’t ready for, don’t need, or don’t want.

Finding Time with Self Discipline
Paula Eder - The Time Finder Expert, Founder of Finding Time

Finding time in today’s busy world is a challenge that we all confront daily. Self discipline is a very important ingredient in any effort to find time. And yet, self discipline often has a connotation of scarcity and of self denial.

I’d like to turn that idea on its head and reframe self-discipline as a positive, proactive, and affirming skill that creates the base for making your cherished goals into realities. Think of self discipline as a way of saying a strong and consistent YES to your top priorities.

I recently published an article in titled Time Management Tips – How to Boost Productivity Using Delay of Gratification. In this article I refer to the “first discipline” in Scott Peck’s The Road Less Traveled. I explore 5 benefits that grow out of developing your self discipline and your ability to delay gratification to further your larger goals.

Repeat After Me: Delegate
Admin Text-Only Editing - Text Only Admin

How can you focus on being the top of your niche when you’re busy doing piddly work?

I’m looking around at the high cost of not delegating and it’s not just chomping up hours in people’s days, it’s killing their profits.

When a prospective client contacts me to say she’s learning how to put up a WordPress blog, I usually ask, “Why? Why don’t you hire someone to do that?”

Yes, I know, money. And if you’ve been around long enough you know that spending your time on tasks you can delegate costs you opportunities, focus, and more.

Your Ideal Vision?
Admin Text-Only Editing - Text Only Admin

People often ask me how I get my life and my business to work so well. They see I live a dream lifestyle: beautiful horses, time with my hubby, weeks off each year, a gorgeous new home and a thriving 7-figure business.

Believe me, I’m not “Miss Perfect!” (My husband is probably laughing and saying, “You got THAT right!” as he reads this!)

But what I DO know works is I create an ideal vision of what I want, then hold that vision as truth until it manifests itself. Holding the vision, even when current reality looks REALLY different is key. Because if you only focus on what is, you’ll keep creating what you already have.

Marketing Mess of the Week: “Soft Selling”
Sandra P. Martini - Business Growth & Marketing Expert

I recently ordered a book from Amazon and the authors signed me up for their newsletter (nowhere on the page or anywhere else I looked did it mention I’d be the recipient of this gift).

Many of their ezines (I received every few days) were brief, largely talking about the importance of “soft selling” and “closing without selling” and generally okay reads.

Then they started promoting an event and the emails became daily and more and more about how we have to stand up against those who “hard sell” by coming to their event.

The Social Media Success “Magic Question”
Admin Text-Only Editing - Text Only Admin

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could wake up everyday and face your social networking with a sense of clarity, integrity, and authenticity? You know what I mean: never feeling like you’re shouting to be heard or acting out for attention.

It’s interesting how regressive some otherwise nice people can get when pushed into the big sea of being visible on Facebook and Twitter. It’s like all confidence in the power of their message gets lost as they rely on pushy tactics to try to turn a fast buck.

Let me share a not-so-big secret with you: nobody’s interested in the pitches. As soon as someone senses a pitch coming at them, the walls go up and the bridge is closed.

Let Your Light Shine Through
Admin Text-Only Editing - Text Only Admin

Excerpt from The Feel Good Guide to Prosperity by Eva Gregory

In our society, so much of who we are is identified by what we do – meaning our job or career. But we’ve somehow gotten it backwards over the years. It isn’t what we do that identifies us, but who we are that’s important. The self that is brought to work each morning, that is present in our interactions, and that manages to shine through whether we are poor or Fortune 100 CEO’s is the real essence of who we are. It is that essence that can help us make a job or career, that we do not like, into a learning experience and a vehicle for letting our “inner light” shine through.

Each day we hear of people that are very unhappy in their careers, downsizing and lay-offs. Unfortunately it is very common in today’s world. While there are many people who complain and feel down-trodden, there are also those that seem to be able to make the best of a bad situation, no matter what. How do they do that? They have a strong sense of self and, typically, a very healthy dose of optimism.
