Find Time to Enjoy Whatever Your Day Brings
Paula Eder - The Time Finder Expert, Founder of Finding Time

Finding time to appreciate what your day brings your way can be a challenge sometimes – but it’s well worth the effort!

As those who know me are pretty well aware, to say that I’m not a big fan of snow would be a bit of an understatement!  It invariably throws schedules out of whack, makes it more difficult to get around, and adds layers of new complication to many daily tasks around the farm.

So, yesterday, as I watched the snow fall outside my office window, I had the opportunity to stretch, be creative, and find things to appreciate about this new development.  I even started a list and quickly came up with three plusses!

Marketing Lessons from a Small Town Restaurant
Sandra P. Martini - Business Growth & Marketing Expert

While enjoying yet another fabulous breakfast at Binky’s Restaurant in Middleborough, Mass this weekend, I sat back and took a good look around at what makes Binky’s so unforgettable:

  1. The atmosphere — Kim (daughter of Binky) and her staff have created an atmosphere where everyone is treated like family…from those of us who go all the time to those who walk through her doors for the first time.
  2. While they make an incredible breakfast and also serve lunch, they’re “known” for their pancakes.  First off, there’s one of them and it’s the largest I’ve ever seen.  I still remember betting my (then) 10-year-old nephews that they couldn’t each finish one (yep, I won!).
  3. Almost all of the customers are long term repeats or coming based on word of mouth referrals.

This simple breakfast led me to ask myself (and now you) a few questions…

I Want to Launch a Product but I Don’t Know Where to Start?
Michele Pariza Wacek (Michele PW) - Love-Based Biz Strategist and Copywriter

This is a great question. And here’s where I want you to start — by assessing your current situation.

Even before you put together a plan, you need to do this. Because if you don’t have a good handle on your current situation, you’re not going to be able to put together a plan that emphasizes your strengths and minimizes your weaknesses.

So here are some things you should look at:

Creating Your Online Marketing Flow in 3 Simple Steps
Admin Text-Only Editing - Text Only Admin

Many business owners make the mistake of picking one or two online marketing strategies, trying them for a couple of weeks, deciding that they don’t work because they’re not bringing in new subscribers, and then moving on to the next hot online marketing strategy that they’ve heard about.

Don’t make this same mistake!

There are many, many, different online marketing strategies you can implement to grow your business and attract new subscribers to your list, but the key to making any of them work is consistency and persistence. It simply isn’t good enough to try one for a short time, decide it’s not working, and then move on to the next.

Ever Wonder What Info About You is Really Visible to the Masses?
Nina East - Wordpress Customization & Setup Expert

GeekSugar, one of my favorite geeky-yet-girly sites, introduced me to WebMii, a fun way to identify what information about you is available on the internet.

If you’ve got a social networking account – and who doesn’t these days?! – WebMii runs a simple search that gives you a rundown of how much of your content is accessible to the masses on the web right now. It can also show you if anyone else with the same name is showing up as part of your historical internet record.

WebMii is great for those of you who want to monitor and reduce your online presence by limiting what strangers have access to online, but if you’re looking to become an Internet superstar, WebMii will also give you a PeopleRank score to show how visible you are online.

Take a look and make a comment below about what you learned…

Create Joint Venture ‘Giveaways’ to Boost Your List
Admin Text-Only Editing - Text Only Admin

One of the best ways you can give your list building efforts a HUGE boost is to partner with other solopreneurs to create a giveaway event … also known as a joint venture (JV).  If done right this strategy can literally add hundreds of new subscribers to your list in a very short period of time.  I’ve been involved in this strategy a number of times over the years and have welcomed several hundred new subscribers into my community in a matter of days. The latest joint venture I participated in added 115 new subscribers in just ONE day.

Today I’d like to share with you my all-time favorite type of joint venture – the giveaway event.

What is a giveaway event?

Are you Throwing Money Out the Window?
Sandra P. Martini - Business Growth & Marketing Expert

You know that feeling when you sign up for a new program or service — this is THE one, the one which will answer all your questions, particularly if it comes with a resource library of some sort.

You go in all bright-eyed and then it happens. . .life interferes.

Perhaps another program caught your eye (and wallet) or a well-meaning coach told you you’re spending too much time working “in” your business and not “on” it.

Regardless, you’re pulled off course and don’t use the benefits you’ve paid for.

How do I Launch a Product and/or Create a Buzz Without Annoying People?
Michele Pariza Wacek (Michele PW) - Love-Based Biz Strategist and Copywriter

This is a great question. And the answer is you can’t. BUT there are steps you can take to minimize annoying people.

First, let me explain why it’s impossible to create a buzz/launch a product without annoying some people. If you want people to buy from you, you need to ask for the sale. And if they don’t want to buy from you, eventually they will get annoyed with you asking for the sale. (Buying is an emotional process, so the only way you’re going to get people interested in buying in the first place is if you push a few emotional buttons.)

But if you don’t ask for the sale (and you need to do it more frequently now because people are hanging on to their money tighter) you won’t get as many sales. So you have to decide what your threshold is in terms of annoying people or making sales.

Now, there ARE steps you can take to keep the annoyance to a minimum. If you provide high quality information during your launch and if you’re honest with people when you contact them (in other words, no more “my server crashed so if you couldn’t get in, that’s why and you should try now” unless your server really DID crash.) Give them good, honest reasons for contacting them and it won’t be nearly as annoying to them.

A Whole New Outlook In An Instant
Admin Text-Only Editing - Text Only Admin

Ever meet someone who is always chipper, always has a kind word to say, can be sick in bed but still wears a smile. Why? What makes two people look at the same situation and observe two completely different things? Is it perception or something deeper?

Individuals who are happy and can always find the positive in a situation are masters of a skill that everyone should learn. They’ve mastered the art of flipping the switch on their perspective. They’ve learned that life is simply a perspective and just how good or bad it seems is dependent on their take on the situation. Literally that life can be changed in a snap. And that it’s necessary to turn down all of the negative talk that’s going on, and focus on the positive flip side that can be silenced by the sheer volume of the negativity. There’s always an opposite. The goal to having positive energy in life is to be able to recognize when negativity is surfacing and squash it like a bug.

Where Is Money in Your List of Values
Admin Text-Only Editing - Text Only Admin

Do you have a list of your values written out? It sounds like a simple exercise but it’s actually quite a powerful way to help you set a new direction with your life and business.

That’s because your beliefs and actions are always energetically and spiritually organized to support your values. In other words, what you value is what will show up for you in your life and business.

So, this morning I took one of my horses for a walk around the neighborhood, as I reflected on what I want my top values to be. At first it feels a little strange to insert a new value at the top of the list. Or, to down shift something I’ve held as most important into a lower ranking spot. But in doing so, I can already feel my energy and creativity reorganizing itself around my 2010 values list.
