What Masterminds Have Done For My Business!
Michele A Scism - Small Business Consultant and Marketing Strategist

I was recently asked if there is one thing that I have done in my business over this last year to have experienced such rapid growth.

I think that I have had such great success because I have been working with a business coach and participating in a wonderful mastermind.  In the video I give you the definition of masterminds according to Napoleon Hill.

Napoleon Hill is the author of such great books as Think and Grow Rich, Law of Success and The Magic Ladder to Success. If you haven’t read these books I highly recommend them. His research on the success of early 1900 business tycoons is still extremely valuable today as well as his definition of the mastermind group.

Business Strategy: 5 Tips from 20 Years in Business
Marnie Pehrson - Bestselling Author, Business & Marketing Consultant

In May, I celebrated my 20th year in business. I was 24 years old when I began my computer training and consulting business as a way to bring in extra cash flow when my husband’s job situation went south. By November of 1990 I was teaching 40-50 hours per week out of my home.

My first clients were individuals who needed to learn computers to get better employment. Those people got jobs and then started referring me to their employers. A few years later I was consulting and programming for large companies in the Chattanooga area.

In 1996, a friend and I started an online marketing company, helping my clients get online with Web sites. One of the main ways we promoted our clients was by listing them in search engines and promoting them with articles that we sent to ezines editors for publication. That was back in the day when you could just submit your site to Yahoo! and get a listing and when people actually wanted to subscribe to a newsletter.

Find Time to Get Your Seasonal Chores Done and Live These Fall Days Fully!
Paula Eder - The Time Finder Expert, Founder of Finding Time

Finding time to get it all done, while still appreciating and living each moment deeply is a challenge that we each face every day.  Especially during times of transition – like the change from summer to fall – finding enough time to manage seasonal tasks, let go of summer, AND enjoy the special moments that autumn brings can seem like an impossible combination of tasks.

This is where task templates can really help you. They are simple, flexible systems for managing your time and shaping your schedule. They help you avoid reinventing the wheel for recurring chores, freeing up precious time for other activities that you value while assuring that you get the things done that you need to do.

These templates capitalize on one of the things that your mind does best – create patterns. Your templates put everything in front of you quickly and clearly, freeing you to launch into action. And that frees up your time.

Help Make a Difference
Admin Text-Only Editing - Text Only Admin

As you may know, my daughters are both on the Autism spectrum. And even though we’re lucky to have them in a great school, both have communication issues, meaning they don’t communicate like others in their age group. They sometimes can’t tell me how they are feeling, even when then are hurt. They get understandably upset when they can’t tell me what they need.

To be honest, sometimes its frustrating and heartbreaking. After all, I work in the communications field. My business’ name is Be Heard Solutions. And yet, my kids are not often heard.

That’s why I’ve joined a global effort to raise awareness and funds for Autism groups in 40 countries, called Communication Shutdown.  As part of this effort, I’m shutting down my Twitter and Facebook for 24 hours on November 1st.

Why am I doing this (along with hundreds of thousands of others)?

Three Reasons Losing Clients Can Be GOOD For Your Business
Terri Zwierzynski - The Solo-CEO: Content Marketing Strategist

After a period of several years where, despite the economy, my business was growing steadily, in the last few months I’ve lost more clients than I’ve gained. At first that was scary — then last week, I had an a-ha moment.

I realized that in the long run, losing a few clients was actually good for my business, and for me. Crazy? Let me tell you why.

Is Your Strategy Ready For the New Year? Part 1
Admin Text-Only Editing - Text Only Admin

Yeah! Yeah! I know it’s ONLY October, but if you’re a savvy entrepreneur marketing your business, you’re already getting your plans in place for the new year.

Don’t believe me? Well, let me ask you a question:

Did you plan your marketing in 2010? Or did you fly by the seat of your pants with a launch and burn strategy?  If it was the latter, I KNOW you are leaving money on the table – or worse – did meet your profit expectations this year.

Why can I be so confident about what has happened to you without a marketing plan? Because every successful coach, consultant or solo professional has a plan and uses it as a road map throughout the year.

And because – until a couple of years ago – I didn’t have one either. Once I started creating and using a ‘living, breathing’ plan (that is, one that didn’t sit on a shelf), things started coming into place and I made more and more profit from my business.

Explode the Misconceptions About PLR by Nicole Dean
Michele A Scism - Small Business Consultant and Marketing Strategist

If you have been working online for a while you probably know about PLR. It is when you purchase pre-written material that you can put your own name on and publish. You can use this information as blog posts, you can create e-books and in some instances you can use it to create information products that you can sell.

I think that to accomplish great things we have to be able to let certain things go in our life. For me, letting go of the bulk of the writing is not a problem. Every time I say that and someone looks at me like I am crazy I always say the same thing “Do you think Donald Trump writes his own books?”

Here is a great video from Nicole Dean of I hope she can help calm your nerves about using plr.

New Twitter Features – Easier & More Exciting to Use!
Nina East - Wordpress Customization & Setup Expert

Is the Twitter bird molting? You betcha!
And they’ve got something to teach you about marketing at the same time.

Well, what I mean is Twitter is rolling out some new features that make it a more effective way of connecting with people – learning about them as well as sharing more of yourself.

Features such as:

  • an easy way to discover new content.
  • the ability to view mini-profiles, so you can get to know someone’s profile at a glance, rather than having to click over to their profile (and away from what you are currently viewing).

Is Your Inability to Receive Blocking the Flow of Abundance in Your Life?
Marnie Pehrson - Bestselling Author, Business & Marketing Consultant

I was talking with a friend yesterday about some of her financial challenges. She’s a wonderful, kind, loving and generous person, yet something about her money struggles makes her feel guilty – as if she must be doing something wrong in God’s eyes.

I know her very well and could assure her there is nothing she has to feel guilty about. Together we began to explore what could be metaphorically “tying God’s hands” in blessing her. In other words, what is she doing that isn’t allowing her to “receive” the bucket of blessings God has hanging right over her head?

It’s One Thing to Talk About the Law of Attraction, Yet Another Thing to Practice It
Admin Text-Only Editing - Text Only Admin

It’s one thing to talk about law of attraction and another altogether to practice being in deep gratitude, experiencing joy and expecting things to go well…even when they aren’t. How do you find that feeling of expansive joy when your day is filled with glitches? How do you create happiness when you’re handling annoyances?
Last week I had a chance to practice. Here’s what I did:

First, I ignored how annoying or unpleasant a particular situation seemed.
