The Importance of the “Big” Picture in Business
Admin Text-Only Editing - Text Only Admin

Last week, I posted a “Cherry Bomb” on playing big in business. And if you read the post, you know my take on ‘playing.’  But ‘Big’ is a completely different idea.  And without it, you may miss something.

When you’ve been in business as a coach or a consultant for some time, you sometimes get so caught up in the day-to-day running of the business, you forget to see the “big” picture.  There’s an old story about big picture thinking:

The Uses and Abuses of Testimonials
Admin Text-Only Editing - Text Only Admin

I just got an email that shocked me. It was from an expert in working with children with special needs–kids like my girls, who are on the Autism spectrum. I’m on her mailing list but have never worked with her or bought one of her products. In the email, she offered to look after my children for two hours in exchange for a “great testimonial”.

Yikes!

I would love to have a qualified expert take care of my daughters for a couple of hours while I do my holiday shopping. And maybe I could give her a great testimonial if I had used her services. But to offer to pay me for a testimonial had the opposite effect: it made me want to keep my distance from her.

What Happened? How Does the Story End?
Lisa Bloom - Speaker, Author, Coach, Storyteller

It’s been a week of narrative challenge for me; I have been hearing lots of versions of the same story but no clear truth of what really happened to our friend who so sadly and unexpectedly passed
away.

And it leads me to ask, how important is it to know the full story? It amazes me how in the light of few details and no fact, people become convinced that they do indeed know the full story. What is it that makes us need to know the end? And whether or not there is a true version, we seem to need to tell and retell, to hear and rehear the same story until we have personally decided what really happened.

The Internet Marketing Easy Button

Is There An Easy Button?

I feel a bit of a rant coming on…

If you’ve been an Internet Marketer longer than two months, you’ve probably realized there is no Easy Button.  If you hadn’t realized that then I am so sorry to be the one to tell you.  For some it might take more time and a few more hopeful online info product purchases before they figure it out.  That’s okay, I’m not knocking that.

Find Time to Breathe In (and Breathe Out) Your Gratitude
Paula Eder - The Time Finder Expert, Founder of Finding Time

Finding time to breathe deeply and savor our moments is a huge challenge and can be especially so during the busy holiday season.

I know the feeling and I am sure that you do, too.  When your To Do List is brimming, it is easy to lose sight of the fact that your cup, too, is brimming … brimming with things to feel grateful about!  Pausing to remember this, in the midst of all the holiday hustle and bustle, is one of the most meaningful and rejuvenating gifts that you can possibly give yourself at this time of year.

Wanting and Longing are Two Entirely Different Emotions…
Admin Text-Only Editing - Text Only Admin

Advertisers, the media, marketing, all are geared to create a feeling of longing within us. We become so accustomed to that ache, that pull within us that we forget what it feels like to have our needs met.

The trick (or, what seems like a trick until, with practice, it begins to feel natural and effortless) is to allow ourselves to feel what it is we want, as if we already have it, long before it materializes in our life.

How to Know if You (and Your Business) Are Ready for an Affiliate Program
Admin Text-Only Editing - Text Only Admin

Just lately I’ve had several business owners approach me for advice and support in adding an affiliate program to their business. And quite often what has prompted them to think about adding this additional income stream is that someone has simply said to them “do you have an affiliate program that I can sign up to?”

Just because someone asks you this doesn’t mean you need to run out and get one set up. There are some critical steps you need to take BEFORE your business is ready to have an affiliate program added to it.

Before we get into these critical steps let’s just take a look at what an affiliate program is and what it can mean for your business…

What Is It About Storytelling?
Lisa Bloom - Speaker, Author, Coach, Storyteller

I have yet to meet someone who does not like to hear a good story!

When I was a little girl, my mother would tell me a story and I would often ask, ‘when did it happen, when was this?’ She would reply, ‘oh, a long time ago.in the olden days.’. The olden days fascinated me, it seemed like a magical place where it was strangely different. Nowadays, I’m not sure how different it really is!

A Business Lesson From Martin Howey
Michele A Scism - Small Business Consultant and Marketing Strategist

I was privileged to meet Martin Howey, the creator of TopLine Business Solutions and Seven Figure Consultants, at a recent 4 day seminar held by Adam Urbanski.  He was so kind and caring and full of fabulous ideas.

Over the 4 days I learned so much from Martin but there was one thing he said to me that I have thought about over and over since I left the event.

He asked me if I could complete this statement “If you continue to do the same thing again and again you will continue to get ____  ______  ______”(the same thing).
Then he asked me if I believed that statement, to which I answered “Yes”.  That made him smile and at that moment I knew he was getting ready to teach me a valuable lesson.
