What my Zumba Instructor Can Teach You About Your Biz
Michele Pariza Wacek (Michele PW) - Love-Based Biz Strategist and Copywriter

I admit it. I’m addicted to Zumba.

But it didn’t happen right away. For a year I flitted in and out of classes, not really clicking with it but since I kept hearing from my friends how much they loved it I kept trying it.

And then I ended up in a class with a woman named Tiger. And I was hooked.

Tiger was born to teach Zumba. Her passion and love for it are infectious plus she’s an excellent teacher (in fact she’s been honored at a statewide level she’s such a fabulous teacher.) Her classes are packed, and her teaching methods and style has influenced all the Zumba instructors at the YMCA.

Is Multi-Tasking More Productive or Less Productive?
Laureen Wishom - The Growth * Success * Acceleration Expert

During the past week, I have been asked on several occasions about the benefits of multi-tasking and if it is actually more productive or less productive.

In my new book, which will debut on April 26, 2013, I have an entire chapter dedicated to productivity and organization.

Below I will give you some tips from the chapter in: Achieving Fit, Fine & Fabulous in Career, Business and Life.

Here’s what works for me: Once I determine which task I need to complete (during a specific block of time), everything else at that moment is a waste of my time. My focus in only on that particular task for that specific block of time – in order words I am not doing any other task during this time.

I have found that the more I disciplined myself to working nonstop (for a period of time) on just one task, the more progress I made. What resulted: I got more high-quality work done in less time than I would have if I were switching from one task to another.

Spotting Talent in Others and Yourself
Admin Text-Only Editing - Text Only Admin

My daughter went for a walk with her uncle and his family along the shores of San Francisco Bay. Like any kid would do, she picked up rocks and threw them into the water, sometimes to skip them, at other times to see how far they would go.

Her uncle noticed she had a pretty good arm. And being a coach to his daughter’s softball team, he became curious.

“Who taught you to throw like that?” he asked.

“Throw like what?”, she replied.

“Like THAT!”, pointing to the ripples far away in the distance.

Why Snowstorms Are A Good Business Strategy
Admin Text-Only Editing - Text Only Admin

I was leading my Mastermind 2.0 group – one of my lovely groups of 13 private clients.  We always do some fun celebrating on the second night of the mastermind.   This time the plan was to go bowling.

Then the snow hit – 8 inches to start.  We waited 30 minutes for the cars to pick us up before the drivers called and said they were stuck on the bridge and couldn’t get to us.

I thought quickly and called the manager of the Soho Loft where we meet.   Thankfully, he agreed to let us come back and have dinner there.  Within 30 minutes we had ordered Thai Food for everyone, picked up wine and Prosecco and ordered chocolate tarts from my favorite bakery.

With an assortment of Rihanna and Bossa Nova music playing in the background we settled in amidst the falling snow.

How I Went From 4 Coaching Clients To 22 In 1 Year!
Michele A Scism - Small Business Consultant and Marketing Strategist

I spent 2 days with my mastermind clients in Houston TX focused on building their businesses.  The energy in the room was powerful.  As we sat in the living room of my suite, it dawned on me that there were 14 of them in the room with me (8 of them were not able to make the trip) but only 1 short year before I was sitting in a hotel suite just like this one with my 4 mastermind clients.  Yes, I had gone from having 4 coaching clients to having 22 in just 12 months.

What might have been even more interesting was that one year prior I set a goal to have 25 coaching clients by the end of the year.  I didn’t quite make it but I have to tell you that if I hadn’t set that totally unbelievable at the time goal, I don’t know where I would have ended up.

How did I get 18 new coaching clients in 12 months?

If you are like me that would be the first question I would be asking.  There were 3 main things that I focused on to make the changes in my business that brought me this success?

Time-saving tools can be real … time savers!  And the thing is that moments saved here and there really can add up.  That is especially true of our on-line time.

On-line time is rife with temptations and distractions, so when I find time-saving tools that can help with on-line work, I am both pleased and eager to share them with readers of The Time Finder.

One of the best places for scanning the new time saving applications available on-line is at lifehacker.  And within lifehacker, it’s the regular feature titled “This Week’s Top Downloads” that often yields the time-saving gems.  I’ll highlight just a couple here, and, as always, I’d love to hear about the time-saving tools and applications that you find especially helpful!

5 Best Email Management Practices
Admin Text-Only Editing - Text Only Admin

With all the different rules and regulations governing list management, it’s getting harder and harder to not only get your emails delivered to the recipient’s inbox – think all those spam filters – but to actually get your recipient to open and read your email.

Just think about your own inbox for a second … how many emails do you get bombarded with each day? How easy is it for you to get to what you really want to read through all the clutter that lands in your inbox each day?

Yes, sure, you can create rules and filters to automatically manage your email as it comes in; in fact I highly recommend that you do! But if you also follow best practices with regard to sending emails it will be much easier for your email to reach the inbox of its intended recipient.

Here are my top five tips for best email management practices:

My Real Story Behind Passion Projects
Admin Text-Only Editing - Text Only Admin

Back in 2011, I took a 3-month Creative Power Sabbatical from my business because I was so burnt out and exhausted from trying to following someone else’s formula. I truly was exhausted and far from my passionate and joyful self.

Imagine… your business name has “joy” in it, and you’ve lost your “joy!” YIKES!!

Well, the Creative Power Sabbatical worked.

Obviously… I connected into my joy and passion again!

What was the biggest reason for the shift?

Giving myself permission.
