I loved it!  What a great story!

There were some really fantastic special effects, great scenery and wonderful characters.  But  my favorite, was the actual story and some really magical lines that rang so true for me.

Business Building Lesson – A Tale of Two Penguins

I took the boys ice skating and as someone who grew up skating, let me tell you, it’s not like riding a bike. I can still skate but nowhere near as good as I used to growing up in Canada!

The best part though was seeing the incredible learning curve of the kids. Within a couple of hours they went from barely standing to skating with confidence. They still kind of looked like penguins but they loved it!

The first hour was a little shaky though and my 8 year old son was getting frustrated. He expected to just take off even though he’s only skated a few times in his life. He’s a naturally gifted athlete so I can understand why he thought he would excel even though he was in a completely different setting. Ice isn’t exactly a baseball field.

Do you ever find yourself working in multiple spots in your home? Like you kind of don’t have a place to set up so you move around all the time?

Most of my clients complain about not being organized and they freak out about how to get things done every day.

Ever since I invested in having a personal organizer come to my home and help me with my space I’ve been much better about being efficient in the home.

Let me share some of my best tips with you:

  • Find one location to land – do your best to find one spot in your home. If you’ve got an office that’s great but if it means you carve out a nook in your bedroom, kitchen or dining room then do the best you can with the space you have.

Yes, my first foray into the wonderful world of info-marketing was pretty much a train wreck.

So why I am talking about it now? Because I realized the other day the lessons I learned were invaluable and my failures could help you become a success.

I Didn’t Know You Do That!

It’s come down to this. Where have all my pillowcases gone? Anyone else lose pillowcases, or just socks?  I had been dreading the day that I would have to set foot in a Bed Bath & Beyond (BBB) store (they were all out of pillowcases online) and go shopping for pillowcases. Talk about dry heaving in a brown paper bag.

The bedding was on the 2nd floor. BBB positioned the escalator in the back of the store so I had to walk through the store to get to the 2nd floor. As I was heading toward the escalator (more on that in a minute), I started looking around the store, and fell in love with this $20 chair cushion (it totally rocks by the way).

BBB’s subtle marketing was spot on. They had low price point items on the outside aisles and the $20 chair cushion caught my eye. My intention was to buy pillowcases and all of a sudden I was buying more stuff – that I didn’t even know that I wanted until I saw it. I had no idea that BBB sold chair cushions!

Facebook is implementing changes to its News Feed, and finding time to be up to speed on what’s coming is a good idea if Facebook is part of any on-line marketing that you do.  (And if Facebook isn’t part of your marketing strategy, now is a good time to create a plan for making it so!)

The redesign of Facebook’s News Feed appears to be primarily focused on decluttering the feed, with a greater emphasis on user control over what is visible.  You will be able to choose from different categories of feeds, viewing Friends’ information, the feeds of people you Follow, etc.

In addition, there is a much greater emphasis on images in this new Facebook News Feed.
