In one of my previous articles, I discussed the top 5 Strategies to Ensure a Big Win As a Business Owner.  The strategies in this post are critical for finding your true value as it relates to growth, success and acceleration in career, business and life.

Let me start by saying that you must see value in yourself in order to add value to yourself.

I have learned that I should not be so concerned about what others might think of me. I must be more concerned about what I think of myself.

If I want to become the person I have the potential to become, I simply must believe I can!

The below tips was the turning point in my life and the stepping-stone to my many accomplishments as a Success Solutionist & Lifestyle Architect.

1. Guard against negative self-talk.

Did you know that by the time you’re 17 years of age, you have heard: “No, you can’t” an average of 150,000 times. You’ve heard: “Yes, you can” only 5,000 times. That’s 30 “No you can’t” for every “Yes you can”.

That’s a lot to overcome. If we want to change our lives, we have to change the way we think of ourselves. If we want to change the way we think of ourselves, we need to change the way we talk to ourselves.

For me I have learned how to become my own encourager, cheerleader and supporter. Every time you do a good job, don’t just let it pass; give yourself a compliment. I even give myself a ‘high five’ in the mirror every time I choose the positive over or being negative, discipline over indulgence, or just finishing something on my long ‘to do’ list.

I also stopped remembering everything that’s wrong with me every time I made a mistake. I choose to focus on every positive thing that has happened in my life – WOW how life changing this has been.

2. Stop comparing yourself to others.

Comparing myself to others was a needless distraction. The only one I need to compare myself to is me. My mission is to become better today than I was yesterday. When I focus on what I can do today to improve and grow I have found that months and years later, I am so excited about the progress I have made and the growth I have achieved.

Most people either perceive the other person to be far ahead of them and then they feel discouraged, or at other times they perceive themselves to be better than the other person – thus become too proud and puffed up. Neither of these feelings is good for you, and neither will help you to achieve growth, success or acceleration.

My advice is to stop the ‘copying, comparing and competing’. Enjoy who you are and what you have accomplished.  Learn to give praise and thanks for everything in your life.

Love who you are.  Most importantly stop judging your inside based on some one else’s outside.

3. Move beyond your restrictive, limiting beliefs.

Unfortunately, most people doubt themselves and put restrictions of what they can do and what they believe. They don’t believe they can accomplish great things. They restrict or limit who they are, what they can become and how wonderful they are – based on the gifts they have.

But the greatest limitations people experience in their lives are usually the ones they impose upon themselves. When a man has put a limit on what he will do, he has put a limit on what he can do.”

“You’ve got to have faith in your curve ball”  – just believe in you!

4. Always add value to others.

People with low self-esteem often see themselves as inadequate or feel like victims, they focus inordinately on themselves. They tend to become self-protective and selfish because this is the only way they know how to survive.

One of the ways I found to eliminate self-protectiveness and selfishness is by serving others and working to add value to them. If you make a difference – even a small difference in the lives of other people – it will lift your self-esteem.

It’s hard to feel bad about yourself when you’re doing something good for someone else. In addition to that, adding value to others makes them value you more.

It creates a cycle of positive feeling from one person to another.

5. Never loose sight of the vision.

In my Amazon best seller: Fit, Fine & Fabulous in Career, Business & Life, I talk about the 3R Method: Re-Imagine * Re-Invent * Re-Emerge.  I truly believe that you have to do these 3R method whenever you loose sight of who you are, your purpose and the things you want to achieve.

The mantra that I always follow: “never give up, never back down, never loose the faith, and get rid of whatever makes you stop”.

Just as these tips have changed who I am – I hope they will change things for you and your success.  Always remember to master Growth, achieve Success and live in strategic Acceleration – it’s your GSA Factor.
