If you are a woman business owner or career professional, being the Best is important for several reasons. Being the Best will help you grow your business, it will enhance your career and allow you to have a better overall life.
To be recognized as the Best in what you do, there are several determining factors. You can tell how others view you by how they treat you. Do other people strive to build a relationship with you, or do you have to chase them? Do you receive recognition when you move up the corporate ladder or make that big sale? Are people around you loyal to you? In other words, do they give you rave reviews, glowing testimonials and/or increasingly generous compensation?
If your customers do not consider you to be the Best, you can tell because they aren’t willing to value you and what you offer. They will try to influence you to lower the price for your services, or simply do business with someone else. If you are working in corporate America and you are not considered the Best by your employer, you will simply be passed over for promotions and larger pay increases.
You become the Best at what you do by listening, reading, thinking, observing, speaking, and writing. To achieve great success, performing at your Best must become your core mission.
If you are doing your Best, you will eventually become the Best. You may not see your own growth, because you are often too close to it. However, if you take a few moments to look back over the last few years of your business and career life, you can begin to see the areas in which you have grown or have achieved results. The question that remains: are you ‘Soaring to Be the Best and Beyond’™? The hard truth is that the only reason the Best is elusive for many is because hard work is at the core.
If while reading this, you are doing the ‘dance of rationalization,’ and making excuses for yourself about how you could have been better if it weren’t for… – stop now. You are only denying yourself the opportunity to move from ‘mock’ satisfaction to success.
Don’t settle for the status quo being satisfied when your business’ ROI is merely okay, or as a career professional you didn’t get the promotion, you’re glad you still have a job. Good business owners and career professionals always have some successes. But the Best business owners and career professionals are those who are always fulfilled and have reached their career objectives and business growth milestones.
Being the Best involves three principles:
1. Know that you are responsible for your results. At the end of the day,
when you do the “look in the mirror” review, the only person you can blame or
give kudos to is the person staring back at you.
2. Decide what you really want to do. Working on a job you hate can turn into
a huge waste of your life. Owning a business that you no longer have a passion for can be draining. If you are unhappy with your career or business, it may mean that you need to up level your career or change your business model to revitalize the passion you once had. In other words make the necessary changes to ‘Take It to a Whole “NEW” Level’™.
3. Make your life meaningful. Deep inside, most of us know the reason why we were put on this earth. If you can hone in and focus all your energy on your purpose and passion, you will be able to move mountains.
Here are 10.5 Tips practiced by those who are the Best:
