Time management tips provide the most powerful support when they enhance your quality of life. What if you could relate to time in a more relaxed yet more effective way – not later, but right now?

The key is right inside you. Cultivating a sense of abundant time builds productivity and helps you make better decisions. Furthermore, your life just feels better. You will find that these apparently simple tools will open new doors and provide still more rewards as you work with them.

2 Tools to Tap Your Inner Abundance

Your understanding of time reflects how you live in your body.

It’s remarkable. When your body is cramped, your perceptions tend to narrow. Shallow breathing, tension and constriction affect your body chemistry, creating a sense of urgency. On the other hand, when your body is relaxed, well stretched and brimming with vitality, you will find it much easier to enter into spacious time!

It needn’t take long to celebrate the ever-present miracle of your body unfolding! Try this simple, potent exercise to enrich your awareness of the moment in any undisturbed location:

“Grow Long Arms:”

Simply stretch out your arms to either side, using your fingers to extend the stretch. Observe how, moment after moment, your arms reach further… and further. Now relax. Bring your awareness within. Notice the ways that exploring this outer space has increased your sense of inner spaciousness, too.

Investing even 30 seconds to gently elongate your body this way opens up your inner spaciousness, as well as calming stress. And you can use this throughout your day. As you oxygenate your body and stretch your muscles, a new calmness and relaxed appreciation of time suffuses your being. Your posture will improve, as well.

Curiosity kindles connection.

Now take a moment to tune into how you respond when an unfamiliar challenge pops up. Do you brace yourself! Tensing your body can stifle your creativity. Fear narrows your sense of options, and creates a simplistic either/or scarcity mentality. You will find it harder to prioritize, and more difficult to keep to a healthy schedule when fear takes the driver’s seat.

This natural tendency can be overcome with another natural impulse – curiosity!

As one of the great antidotes to fear, curiosity provides the perfect climate for learning. You stop focusing self-consciously on the you-who-doesn’t-know, and you grow into the you-who-is-eager-to-figure-it-out.

Any time you notice yourself apprehensively thinking, “What if…?”, try replacing that with “I wonder what…?” It feels so much better! And you are in a superior position to chart out your time, and to ride the new wave of change.

Central Themes of Abundant Time

What are some of the common themes of enjoying abundant time? Well, appreciation of life’s simple pleasures is one. Self-reference (and the self-trust that follows) is another. And realistic acceptance of limits and challenges is an all-important third. See for yourself how shifting from bracing to embracing what’s in front of you opens your heart, your mind and your sense of time!
