Previously in Tip #4 of From Fit & Fine to Fabulous, I talked about the importance of walking in your purpose.
In essence, purpose is the purest form of you, where you are living in authenticity and your vision for your future begins to manifest as you grow and succeed.
When you know your definition of success, walking in your purpose, and your Strategic Success Plan is in place… then it becomes extremely important that you handle the small stuff ‘brilliantly’.
There’s a story I read about a little girl and her father who were at an ice cream store. Just outside the store, the little girl accidentally knocked her scoop of ice cream off the top of the cone.
She was upset and they went back into the ice cream store to replace the scoop. While inside, she tried to persuade her father to get her a double scoop instead of just replacing the single scoop that she had.
He refused and then explained that she needed to learn how to handle those one scoops first before she would be ready to handle more scoops.
I love this story because it demonstrates the importance of being prepared and being a good overseer of your success, purpose and resources. We must treat what we have with respect, integrity and gratitude so that we can embrace the small stuff ‘brilliantly’.
When we have mastered the art of handling our small stuff ‘brilliantly’ (those one scoop moments), we can expect a new influx of opportunities (those two and three scoop moments).
According to Henry Hartman: “Success always comes when preparation meets opportunity”.
QUESTION: As a Career, Business & Lifestyle Coach, I always asks my game-changing, high-achieving clients “are you handling the one scoops (small stuff ‘brilliantly’) in your career and business before you take on the double and triple scoops”?
