We all know how important it is to build your list if you’re going to build your business online. And there are lots of great strategies for building your list. But here’s the thing that not enough people are talking about. There’s no point in building a list if you’re going to just let it sit there.
Imagine you’ve created a great giveaway that is really helpful to your ideal client. They want your help so much that they’re willing to part with their name and email address to get your gift. Remember, just because your giveaway is free, people don’t give up their contact info unless it’s really valuable to them.
So you’ve given them some great content through your giveaway, but you know as well as I do, that your giveaway alone is not going to fully help them solve their problems. They need more help, and they want it from you!
If you just let people sit there after they get on your list it’s like throwing them a lifejacket while they’re floating at sea and not pulling them in. You’re just letting them drift all alone.
You owe it to your community (and yourself) to do more. Share your teachings. Get to know them. Let them get to know you. And offer your help.
That last one – offer your help – is often a scary one because we associate it with “selling” and that can be scary sometimes.
But it’s really not. It’s really just an invitation to get your help to solve their problems and reach their goals. Don’t you owe that to your community?
If you can relate to what I’ve shared here about not communicating enough with the people on your list, and resisting the idea of selling to them, I have a favor to ask of you.
Please share your thoughts below about what is stopping you from doing so. Or if you used to struggle with this and have overcome it, what helped you make you that shift?
This is an important discussion to have and I appreciate your viewpoint. Thanks for sharing!
