Apply these 5 methods to your 5-Minute Presentation and be remembered 5 times longer!

Dig Really Deep: Although your time is limited to 5 minute, you’ll still need to do enough research to understand your topic and cover the essence of your talk.

Simple Is Always Best: Narrow down your topic to one core concept. According to Chip and Dan Heath, the authors of Made to Stick: Why Some Ideas Survive and Others Die:

“How do we find the essential core of our ideas? To strip an idea down to its core, you must be masters of exclusion. It’s all about just the one idea.”

Practice, Practice, Practice: Rehearsal is critical for a short presentation. You have no time to pause or collect your thoughts. To engage your listeners you’ll need to be smooth, on target, and explicitly succinct.

Always Lead With Wow: During the 5-Minute Presentation you have just a little time to build your case or draw in your audience. The best approach is to lead with WOW: a compelling or controversial position, statement or question.

Make them think ‘WOW’ right from the start.

Tell a Story: A presentation full of facts, figures and statistics will quickly lose your audience and yes put them to sleep. One statistic is fine to reinforce your point. But if you want to create a memorable presentation, tell a story.
