13, Tunisia: Women’s Day. Holiday celebrating the independence of women.

14, Pakistan: Independence Day. Gained independence from Britain in 1947.

15, Korea: Independence Day. Marks proclamation of the republic in 1948.

17, Indonesia: Independence Day. Celebrates proclamation of the republic in 1945.

24, Vesuvius Day. In 79 AD, It erupted, buried Pompeii and two other cities in what is now Italy.

25, Uruguay: Independence Day. Declared independence from Brazil in 1825.

30, Turkey: Victory Day. Marks end of 1922 war for independence.
