Can you believe we are already into the month of March? Feels like I was just cheering in the New Year last week! One thing I’ve realized is that in order to keep up with all I have on my plate, it is absolutely critical to bring myself back to Present Moment Awareness. Moving at the speed of light from a physical action perspective isn’t the answer to keeping up, although I’m certainly guilty of trying!
I’ve recently incorporated a new habit into my day, and that is to take a 90-second Vibrational Vacation two to three times a day. I’m finding this particularly powerful when I begin to feel overwhelmed. That is my indicator that it is time to STOP and GET PRESENT. The past no longer exists. The future does not exist. All I have is my NOW Moment. What I do in this NOW Moment can be affected by my dredging up memories that do not serve me from the past or by worrying about the future. Since neither exist, why create a NOW Moment that feels icky? This is my opportunity to simply BE…to get grounded and centered. All is well in my NOW Moment.
Try this for yourself. During the day, give yourself the gift of a 90-second Vibrational Vacation. Stop what you are doing. Get into a comfortable position. Close your eyes. Release all thoughts of the past or future and BE HERE NOW. Focus on slowing your breathing down. Put your hand on your tummy and take a long slow breath in as deeply as you can (feel your tummy rise as you do). Then slowly exhale as far as you can with a slight pause before inhaling again, ideally only taking about 8 breaths over the 90 seconds. Do this all while envisioning a beautiful vacation spot you’ve been to before or one you’d like to experience. See yourself in the scene.
For me, I’m under the shade of two big palm trees at the ocean. The temperature is balmy. There is a slight breeze and I can hear the lapping of the waves on the shore and smell the salt air. Every once in awhile I’ll see a seagull fly by and hear its squawk. Life is good! Ahhhhh It’s amazing how quickly you can refresh, regenerate and rejuvenate when you let yourself! After my 90-second Vibrational Vacation, I’m feeling calm, centered, clear and ready for the next task at hand! Try it and let me know how it works for you!?
