Google+ is another social media site you need to consider using for your business. It’s fairly new and requires an invite, but it’s easy to set up once the invite is approved. It flows a lot like Facebook, but is different in a few ways. With Facebook, the feed is where you see posts made by your friends. With Google+, the stream is where you see updates from those you follow. Another way to see these posts is to view the circles, hangouts, huddles, and sparks you participate in.
Circles, hangouts, and huddles are what Google+ uses to group your friends together and they’re similar to those in real life. When you use these groups, it makes it easier to understand what the purpose is and how you’re supposed to use it to grow your business or socialize with friends and family. Using these words and descriptions make you think less on what you want to do and more on what you need to do to reach your goal.
An example of this would be with circles. When you think of friends and a way to identify them, more than likely you think of circles. A circle of friends are close to you and more than likely they’re people you trust and would tell anything to. It’s possible this circle may include family, but more times than not, family isn’t included because you might tell these people things you don’t want your family to hear. This may be a joke or a picture.
Hangouts are another way to select people you’d want to send certain posts to. This particular group may or may not include family, and of course, that’s up to you on how you set this group up. When you hang out in the real world you may not have a problem hanging with a sister, brother, cousin, niece, etc. so those are the people you’d want to include in this group.
The next option is the huddle and this can be set up for a few different reasons. If you’ve ever tried to set up a business meeting or a birthday celebration you know how difficult it is when you have numerous emails or text messages going around. Before too long you may get confused about what you’re doing, which could cause problems in setting up the event. When you set up huddles, this won’t happen. You’ll have a chat going on where everyone will see the comments, which will save time and problems in the long run.
If you’re trying to find a new or more useful way to communicate with your market and family, Google+ may be the way to go. You may find using this social media site may be exactly what you need to take your business to new levels. When you include a Virtual Assistant in the mix, it’ll be even more useful because she’ll be able to help you do things while you focus on your business.
